Polyester is an important fiber in our life, it allows Shaoxing Starke Textile to build lightweight materials that dry quickly and can be used in various applications, including training tops and yoga tights. The polyester fiber also can blend well with some other natural fabrics like cotton or linen. However, as we all know the original polyester is derived from petroleum, which requires quite high environmental cost.
Now this will have change because Shaoxing Starke Textile can supply another kind of fiber called Recycled polyester, which has been available since the early 1990s, Recycled polyester is also known as RPET, with the “R” standing for recycled and the ”PET” for polyethylene terephthalate. Its use is particularly popular for sportswear, loungewear, and outdoor garments. It is made of recycled plastic water bottles, textile waste, and even old fishing nets. It is now similarly priced to its original counterparts. As it is made from the used cola or water bottles, so that means using recycled polyester lessens our dependence on petrol as a source of raw materials, reuse waste and reduces greenhouse gas emissions from manufacturing. At the same time, by using recycled polyester, we can promote new recycling streams for polyester clothing that is no longer wearable.
Shaoxing Starke Textile has GRS certified, which is short for Global Recycled Standard 4.0, which conform with this standard including Knitting(PR0015) Dyeing(PR0008) Finishing(PR0012) Warehousing(PR0031), and in specific the certificate covers the following products: Fabrics(PC0028) and Dyed Fabrics(PC0025).
